• Four-head VCR: A VCR requires two video heads to record a picture. With four heads, a VCR can perform special effects like slow motion and freeze frame, and it is optimized for recording and playback in both the SP (2-hour) and SLP (6-hour) modes. You’ll also get a better picture from rental videos with a four-head VCR.
• Hi-fi VHS: The standard VHX format with Dolby Surround Pro-Logic encoded in the stereo audio channels, which produces near-CD-quality sound. You’ll need an A/V receiver with Dolby Surround Pro-Logic decoding to take full advantage of this feature.
• VCD: Video CD (VCD) is a video standard that can store audio and video to a compact disc (rather than a DVD disc) using MPEG-1 compression. You can fit up to 74 minutes of video with audio onto a VCD-formatted CD, but you can expect the video quality to be similar to that of a VHS videotape.

This is an update of my previous review and update. I have this unit almost two years. Overall, I'm still satisfied. But over time, have developed a few wrinkles.
There are a few quirks annoying that we had to get used to it. From time to time we have a scene of "skip-play" problem on some DVDs. These are usually the kind of chances, but we also have the problem with the media of good quality, great DVD release. And we also see flashing "artifacts" Pop-up"Momento" from time to time.

I do not know if this is a general feature, in this particular product or if its just a bug in my car.
Although it is a bit 'boring, but usually do not bring us all so much trouble. If I replace it with this device, I would probably be more convenient for something. In fact there were not many units like this on the market two years ago, but now they are easy to find and the selection is quite good.
I must say that we paid $ 300.00for them in 2001, just too much to be paid in 2003 – in fact, the price has been reduced by almost $ 100.00 since that time, $ 200.00, but is a bit 'too much with all the competition in the $ 150 – $ 200.00 spectrum.
Overall a good device, but a bit 'too expensive for that time.

Reliability can be a factor here, if it still works well in two or three years ago I would definitely say it's worth the extra $ $, resulted in prolonged use.
